Hello! My name is Justin McHenry. I was raised in the Pacific Northwest. I started picture framing in 1986, at the age of 11, in my father’s picture framing shop in Stayton, OR. My father taught me how to picture frame and to have a passion for it. After I graduated from high school, I attended the Art Institute of Seattle, with emphasis on art and design. I knew if I had a better understanding of color and design that I could make the best picture frames that would accent art pieces the right way. After I graduated, I still helped in my father’s shop until my father sold his shop in 2011 and moved to San Antonio, TX.
At this point, I decided to move to San Antonio and open my own picture framing shop. I opened Affordable Picture Framing in January of 2013. I have been able to build my clientele with professional artists, local art collectors, and businesses. I believe in having my business be a place of comfort and an extension of my family. My father stops in once in a while and helps out in the shop. My wife, Victoria McHenry, does more of the business side and helps keep things organized.
